Climate North: Toronto's Very Own Climate Community
A renewed spirit and a new ground for empowering climate solutions in Toronto
💚 A SPECIAL REBRAND
Welcome to Climate North!
You read that right! We have entered 2024 with a new brand.
When we (Fab, Becky, and Chloe) started sowing the seeds of this community in late 2022, with some support of the kind folks at MCJ, little did we know that this small meet-up group would snowball so quickly into one the most sought-out communities supporting climate-positive solutions in Toronto.
A year into it, we found ourselves more energetic than ever; having naturally evolved from our initial vision. So in December 2023, bearing the fruit of our dedication to making climate action accessible and engaging, we officially became Climate North.
We want to thank all of you amazing members for supporting this community with interest, knowledge and enthusiasm, and hope you continue to do so. We promise to remain committed to our goal of making climate change a relatable and approachable topic, inclusive to anyone at any stage of their climate journey. Our focus is to nurture a community where ideas bloom and collaborations thrive.
🎬 MOVIE SCREENING
Kicking Off The New Year on Common Ground
On 17th January, we joined Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema to watch the Toronto screening of the film 'Common Ground' - the sequel to the renowned award-winning film, Kiss the Ground.
The movie describes the toxic interconnections in farming policy, politics, and health, and explores how regenerative agriculture and soil health plays a vitally important role in changing these systems for the better.
While the film had a star studded cast including Woody Harrelson, Jason Mamoa and Rosario Dawson, the real stars were those who have been working within the food industry to take steps towards fixing what is evidently a broken system.
Thank you to all of you Climate North members for showing up and bringing the warmth inside! To all the new folks that joined us, we were glad to have you too! A special shoutout to Abby Litchfield for all her help!
